Agentic Workforce Readiness
Definition
An organization's measured ability to put AI agents to work safely: processes documented at a level agents can follow, tasks segmented, governance boundaries set, and people prepared to manage agents rather than compete with them. Readiness is not the same as adoption - many organizations use AI tools daily but cannot yet hand complete tasks to agents. In a 2026 IBM Institute for Business Value survey of 2,000 technology executives, only 11% said they felt fully ready for the scale of AI agent deployment expected within the next year.
